Offenau – Sauerkraut

Sauerkraut is a German dish of finely sliced pickled cabbage. It has a distinct sour flavour which is where it gets the name Sauerkraut (sour cabbage). It is served as an accompaniment to main meals and pairs well with smoked ham, pickled meats and fried sausage.
